Sandtray Therapy is a mostly nonverbal form of therapy that focuses on your child expressing themself through symbol and metaphor using miniature objects and the familiar medium of sand. Sandtray Therapy allows your child to construct their own scene that acts as a reflection of their life, allowing them to examine and resolve conflicts, remove obstacles in their way, and gain a better acceptance of themself. Your therapist will help your child to reflect on strengths, obstacles, and solutions in your sandtray, while also encouraging them to find the solutions they already have inside of them!
Sandtray Therapy is appropriate for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. While Sandtray Therapy can be used for many different reasons, it can be especially empowering for children and teens who may not have the words to express themselves, those who have been abused or neglected, and those who have experienced trauma.
