At eight years old, Bethany dreamed of becoming a play therapist. But it wasn't until she became a classroom teacher, and fell in love with helping her students identify and regulate their emotions, that she knew she had to make her childhood dream a reality. She entered the field of social work, and since that time, Bethany has been a child development specialist at a children's shelter, a domestic violence and sex trafficking researcher, a therapeutic play provider for children of trafficking victims, and a talk therapist for both children and adults. Throughout her varied career, she has most enjoyed forming meaningful connections with children and their families as she supported them on their journeys of self-discovery, self-love, and self-determination.

Bethany's client-centered approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, honesty, and supportive encouragement as clients lead the direction of each session. While Bethany is happy to provide insight and suggestions, she's learned that true magic in the therapy room happens when clients are given the space, tools, and autonomy to forge their own paths forward.

When she isn't in the therapy room, Bethany can be found wrangling her two young kids, hanging out with her husband, and dreaming up their next adventures.

I only refer my client's children to a few select and trusted therapists, Kristen being one of them.
