Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidenced-based treatment for children, teens, and their caregivers who have experienced trauma. Using TF-CBT, the therapist teaches you and your child new skills to help process thoughts and feelings related to traumatic events, manage and resolve upsetting thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and promote safety, growth, parenting skills, and family communication. The therapist uses creativity and flexibility in order to use TF-CBT in a way that best meets the needs of your family.
TF-CBT is appropriate for children aged 3-18 years old who have emotional problems, posttraumatic stress disorder, fear, anxiety, or depression, as well as children experiencing traumatic grief.
